Technology Loaner Pool

As part of our commitment to supporting your academic and professional journey, we are introducing the Technology Loaner Pool, where we will provide SoN Staff & Faculty with temporary devices.

Supported Platforms

  • Loans can include PC’s or Mac’s.

Loan Types

Quarterly Loan

Available to Lecturers, Research Assistants (RA’s), and Teaching Assistants (TA’s). Borrow a laptop for the entire academic quarter to support your employment duties.

Short-Term Loan 

Available to customers for short-term use, typically ranging from a few days to a week. This may include:

  • Guest speakers
  • Forgotten equipment
  • Classroom presentation and events

  • Microsoft Surface Laptop (models may vary)
  • Microsoft Surface Pro (models may vary)
  • Apple iPad (models may vary)
  • Apple MacBook Pro (models may vary)
  • Audio Recorders

Getting Started

Please note that all loaner and extended checkout devices are subject to availability and may have specific usage policies and guidelines. It is important to adhere to these guidelines to ensure fair and efficient utilization of resources for all customers.

  1. Submit a Request: To request a device, customers can submit an IT Request detailing the loan’s purpose, the specific device required, and the loan duration.
  2. Confirmation & Notice via a Cheqroom Automated Reminder:  After submitting a request, customers should expect an automated checkout reminder from Cheqroom via email, it will not come from sonhelp@uw.edu.
  3. Pick Up & Return: Customers will receive an automated email from Cheqroom detailing the items to be returned and the return date. Device pickup and return are facilitated through the Tech Lockers.

Request A Loaner Laptop

Q: What if I need a computer again next quarter?

A: Return the device by the end of the quarter and submit a request for a new loan.

 

Q: What if a Nursing student needs to borrow a computer?

A: Students should use the Student Technology Loan Program.

 

Q: Can I borrow a computer for my research needs?

A: Research-related computing must be supported by a grant or departmental funds and is not covered under the loaner program.
