SUNSETTING: K Drive is being replaced by SharePoint for department file storage.
K Drive is being sunset as the School of Nursing transitions department file storage to SharePoint. SharePoint provides a more modern collaboration platform with stronger document management, easier sharing, lower cost, and better alignment with university-wide technology strategies.

K Drive is a shared file storage service for School of Nursing faculty and staff. Designed to support secure storage, synchronization, and file sharing, it can be configured to meet HIPAA, FERPA, and IRB compliance requirements while supporting collaboration across devices and locations.
Features
- Centralized File Storage for Collaboration: Facilitate teamwork by storing and sharing files in a centralized location.
- Access On and Off Campus: Files are available from on campus, and from remote locations by using Husky OnNet.
- Flexible Permissions: Department staff can manage access by assigning permissions based on business and operational needs.
- Cross-Device Synchronization: Keep files up to date and accessible across desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
- Compliance Support: Can be configured to meet HIPAA, FERPA, and IRB compliance requirements.
Availability
- Available to School of Nursing faculty and staff for department, team, and project file sharing needs.
- Existing use during service sunsetting and transition to SharePoint.
Cost
- There is no direct cost to the requesting unit for approved sites. Service costs are covered through funding provided by the Dean’s Office.

A: No. Personal files should be stored in OneDrive for Business.
