Important notices:
- Your NetID must be a member of either the uw_son_people or uw_son_students groups or a member of a sub-group to proceed. All faculty, students, and staff are automatically added to an appropriate group by their organization or program managers when starting and removed from them upon departure.
- Mac users cannot use the Grammarly Office plug-ins, but copy & paste works well.
- Enrollment to the School of Nursing Grammarly account is self-service.
How To Enroll
- Join the UW Group uw_son_resources_grammarly.
- Go to the above UW Group page.
- Enter your NetID (without @uw.edu) into the Add Members box.
- Click the Do it button.
- Wait 10 minutes to allow your group membership changes to be picked up by Grammarly
- Login to our SoN Grammarly account with this link (UW NetID Required).
- Save this link as your method for logging into Grammarly in the future.
- Enjoy using Grammarly Premium!
Grammarly’s Generative AI functionality is not enabled by default. Please review the University of Washington and the School of Nursing’s (UW NetID Required) guidance on generative AI tools and send an email to sonhelp@uw.edu to request access to the feature.

Q: How much does Grammarly cost?
A: While there is a free version of Grammarly you can use UW SoN staff, faculty, and students are able to utilize the Premium version of Grammarly at no cost.
Q: What other languages does Grammarly support?
A: Currently, Grammarly only supports dialects of the English language. For instance, it will still recognize spelling, grammar and punctuation differences in American, British, Canadian, Australian, and Indian English.
Q: Can I use more than one device for Grammarly?
A: Yes! Your Grammarly account can connect up to 5 devices, To access your Grammarly account, simply login using the email you initially used when setting p your account.
Q: Is Grammarly available on mobile devices?
A: Yes, Grammarly is available for iOs and Android devices. However, do keep in mind that Grammarly only supports iOS 15 and newer, as well as Android 7.0 and newer.
Q: Grammarly says that my browser isn’t compatible.
A: First, be sure that your browser is supported by Grammarly. Here’s a list of supported browsers:
