Overview
The Nursing Ed Experience Enhancement initiative aims to revolutionize educational processes and support excellence in nursing education. By centralizing and automating data management in Salesforce, the initiative streamlines access and management of student and applicant information. It enhances data integrity and reporting, boosts decision-making, and fosters cross-department collaboration through real-time data sharing. The project supports scalability and modernization, reducing reliance on legacy systems. With the School of Nursing IT team’s efforts and executive sponsorship from the Continuing Nursing Education department, the initiative successfully went live in November 2023. The impacts include accelerated data access, reduced manual work, improved data quality, strengthened reporting capabilities, and greater collaboration between teams.
We are excited to announce the launch of the Nursing Ed Experience Enhancement initiative, designed to revolutionize our educational processes and support our shared goal of excellence in nursing education. This initiative aims to:
- Centralize and automate data management by streamlining student and applicant information in Salesforce for seamless access, management, and automated workflows.
- Enhance data integrity and reporting to improve data accuracy through standardized migration and validation processes, and boost decision-making with enhanced reporting and analytics.
- Foster cross-department collaboration through enabling real-time data sharing to support collaboration across departments.
- Support scalability and modernization by ensuring flexibility to accommodate future growth and system integrations, while reducing reliance on legacy systems.
A centralized CRM platform in Salesforce that consolidates student and applicant data from Ethos—streamlining student and applicant data. It enables real-time access to clean, organized data; supports targeted communication and automation; improves reporting and decision-making; and lays a scalable foundation for future growth and integration across departments.
The School of Nursing IT team was instrumental in bringing this project to life, with executive sponsorship from Continuing Nursing Education department. The School of Nursing IT Director, Brad Coston provided key support, while Sahitya engineered the data migration from Ethos(Legacy system) to Salesforce. Collaborating closely with the School of Nursing IT, the team streamlined data retrieval and built the essential connectors—ensuring a smooth, efficient experience from end to end.
The Nursing Ed Experience Engagement project began in July 2022, with a successful go-live in November 2023.
Data Integrity & Source of Truth
With the legacy system, Ethos, containing vast amounts of replicated data, identifying a single, reliable source was critical to ensuring accuracy. This risk was mitigated through close collaboration with the Continuing Nursing Education team. Their expertise helped guide Sahitya and team in selecting the correct data source, ensuring consistency and reliability across the platform.
